interested kaau ko sa WP7 OS... kaso lng daghan man gud features nga missing... especially bluetooth file transfer, usb mass storage.... unya para sa ako dili pa kaau mature ang WP7.. mu palit na unta kog lumia 800 pero tungod sa mga drawbacks sa WP SGS2 nlng akong g.palit... waiting lng ko sa WP8 kung unsay new features.... mayta mga missing features ibutang na...

Sadly mao jud ni problema sa wp, daghan limitations, hadlok piracy! hehe. Kinahanglan jud ka mangita ug workarounds to compensate for the closed system. Hopefully mu-ease na gamay ang restrictions once Apollo comes out.

Tech sites seem to indicate na murag dili ma-upgrade ang present generation windows phone to Apollo, BUT, murag there's a very good chance current phones will receive a sort of scaled-down version of WP8, murag wp7.6 na. The wp7 phones will get all the features of WP8 except those na mu-require ug mas advance na hardware, like games na manginahanglan ug multi-core processor. Also it has already been confirmed that WP8 will be backwards compatible with wp7 apps, so most likely pud, the WP8 core features will scaled down to support wp7 phones. That said, I think naa pay kaugmaun ang akong LUmia 800. hehe

naa koy nabasahan na article regarding aning future updates to WP apollo for 2nd generation WP handsets...

according atong sa article naay user nangutana sa nokia service chat sa US regarding if ma update to apollo ang Lumia 900... nya ang respond sa nokia employee kay "Lumia 900 can be updated to WP apollo".. unya kung tinuod sad ni nga ma.update ang lumia 900 to apollo murag naa sad chance na ma update ang existing 2nd generation WP handsets kay most of them have similar specs except Tango handsets...

so lets hope ma update to Apollo ang Lumia 800 and 710... =D

performance-wise, more or less the same ang lumia sa iphone, consistently smooth. Lumia is cheaper though and has unique body and ui design. Mas daghan lang hinuun apps ang iphone. The lumia 800 has slightly bigger screen than the iphone pud.

Murag ang windows 8 phones sir, 4th quarter na man daw i-release, most likely, 1st quarter next year na makaabot sa pinas. If makahulat pa ka till January or February 2013, ok ra pud. But sa akong nabasahan sa mga tech sites, naa puy umaabot na update para sa mga present generation na WPs. MOst likely dili sya full na WP8 update kay lain man daw kernel ang gigamit sa wp7, pero present gihapon daw ang mga major features naa na sa Wp8 pero gi-scale down lang para sa wp7 na phones. Murag mahimu na ug wp7.6 ang present gen na WPs.

Anyway, mag-launch karung June 20th ang windows phone 8, so be sure to visit the tech sites pagka20th kay ihatag na tanan official details regarding sa WP8!

ang cons lang gyud for the meantime is the xbox live games wala pa sa atong country...

YOU CAN BUY/DOWNLOAD XBOX LIVE GAMES BY TRICKING YOUR PHONE INTO THINKING YOU'RE IN THE U.S.

Here's how:

1. On a desktop PC, create a new Live/Hotmail account and make sure your location is set to a valid U.S. Address during account creation. *remember your location can no longer be changed once the account is created.*

2. Backup your contacts, music, videos, and all other data on phone.

3. Hard reset your phone by going to Settings > About > Reset my Phone. You will lose all your data sa imong phone so be sure you're done with step #2

4. After your phone restarts. Go through the initial set up wizard. But don't connect to the internet yet. And when Wp asks you if you'll allow data usage, press cancel.

5. When you get to the home screen, go to settings > region + language. Change all the settings to "English (United States)," hit "restart" when prompted.

6. After your phone restarts, you can now click on the XBOX LIVE tile. It will ask you to enter your Live/HOtmail account. Sign into the account you've created in step #1.

7. You now have access to XBOX Live and the ENTIRE U.S. MARKETPLACE! Enjoy!

P.S. In setting up your billing info to purchase apps/games, you can use your existing Philippine-issued credit card, BUT use a valid U.S. address as your billing address. Sagdi lang if dili na tinoud na billing address kay the system won't check. Basta naka-set na sya into ANY U.S. address, dawatun na sya!
