Hello Everyone,
As you have noticed, with advice from Google, there have been a couple of new features and incremental adjustments made to the site. Most of these are designed to encourage guests to create an account and, at the same time, improve on the user experience. In the next few weeks, we will adjust the colours a little bit more to make it more pleasing across different monitors. We will also begin rolling out category expansions and tweak some of our permissions to allow a more engaging platform. A part of these changes is to allow users to close their own threads as "Sold" under Buy/Sell.
However, the most exciting update that I am going to tell you about lies on the mobile front. With an increasing mobile user base, I think the time has come for us to expedite our entry into the mobile space. After evaluating different solutions and getting sound advice from my co-admin, @
vern, we are now 90% decided on a platform. This will be a branded app that will allow everyone to upload photos directly from their mobile devices and have push notifications among others. Along with the release of our mobile clients, we will begin easing up on attachment permissions to allow the extensive use of the photo upload feature.
As we are upgrading our spare server to a more capable one, a podcast channel and video system is also being deliberated. Also on consideration are an "Answers" section, a "Directory" section, and a "Reviews" section. Let me know what you guys think.
