Basically, I opted to have a long hair, though my parents are against on it. Because it really helps during my climbs. Most specially during major climbs, which would last about a week. It serves as a "natural scarf", for protection against coldness in the tropical forest. It covers the entire portion of my neck's back as well as my two ears. It helps a lot.
But there are two disadvantage about it, aside from perception. I find it time consuming. Before I could finish 5 minutes, but now 15 minutes is all it takes to finish taking a bath. Second, it sometimes compromise your budget but just a little. The moment you have, had a long hair, taking a bath without a shampoo, is not taking a bath at all. Not to mention the hot oil, at least thrice a year.
