is it possible to block the whole ip ranges? aka blocking the whole country.

i dont think their bots... coz if its a bot it would have posted on all section... that means it is manually added.. nonetheless, check lang gihapon if naay buslot sa comment form nga magamit sa injection... better put a verification or captcha

Sadly, there are ways to circumvent CAPTCHA. I would say bots of any kind are here to stay.There are anti-bot software that can prevent bots from registering at a set minimum time. Registrations are rejected if the form is submitted like within 10 min after the first registration. It means bots can have a maximum of 6 spams in an hour. It is better than nothing.

I think this is not a random act. Maybe a disgrunted Istoryan did this. Someone is really pissed.

These are humans. We already have a long list of IP Blocks that are blocked along with some other methods such as captcha for new users. They will eventually grow tired.

marketing... its called black hat seo.... there are lot of seo sweatshops that do this... bots can be easily blocked since they are predictable, can easily be blocked by akishmet or captcha, however for human spammer, there is no effective way to block them except you imposed requirements that any new user cannot create a new post until it reaches certain amount of post count.... samething what they did sa B&S

ip blocking is effective however this people tend to spoof ip address, and also block ip address may have implications maski ang walay labot maapil...
