Can't Install Windows OS with previous CentOS

I need to convert my CentOS to Windows Xp. Now as I try to install WinXP over it, the installation doesn't even start. When I boot form the windows installation cd, it says "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..." and the monitor goes blank and it remains blank for indefinite period.

Any idea will be much appreciated.

can u boot using another linux livecd and delete/format/re-partition ur existing partitions from there?

Murag wla na detect ang windows ang imong mga drivers, hard disk.

As far as I know, ang windows if successfully booted iya ra na i-overwrite ang mga non-Windows partition. Murag, dili problem sa CentOS.

bro, kung mag-install ka og OS wa paman na cyay driver, ayha naman ka mo-install ug driver after na nimo naformat.

When i check Bios, ok ra, na detect ang HDD. Mao ni kasagaran namo problem kun ang pc ma intallan ug Linux kay inig balik sa windows, mostly kutob ra jud siya sa "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..." Then mo blank screen na dayon. Mga 4 HDD na akong nabantayan ani. Were using Linux before man, THen among gibalik ug windows kay nipalit man ug license nga Windows OS among Boss.

I also seek advise sa Linux nga forum, then naa ni suggest nga i Low Level Format para ma clear ang MBR sa HDD.

I try downloading HDD Low Level Format Tool ver.2.36 build 1181 sa HDDGURU: HDD Low Level Format Tool. After installing it sa other PC, ang Harddisk nga naay problem akong gi add sa working PC then ddto nako gi run ang Low Level Format nga application until nahuman.

After nahuman ug LOw Level Format, gibalik nako ang HDD sa iyang original nga Board, Bingo!
Ni succeed ang Windows installation. Right now gi pang low level format nako ang other HDD nga same ang problem. Hopefully magamit ra ghapon namo.

just curious. did you try deleting the partitions on the drives before you started installing windows?
