    Default Abandoned Web Site Projects

    I have heard so many stories of web designers/developers abandoning their client with half-baked web sites and getting away with it.

    Please think well before you commit into a web site project. Know that it consumes a lot of work and time. Consider your capabilities: take only one(1) project at a time.

    It's a headache for me and other web designers to follow somebody else's mess. It also makes potential client doubt our competitiveness as Cebuano web developers.

    If this keeps on, the web design industry of Cebu may crash under this bad reputation.

    specialy if the project is passed to another developer then to another developer then to another developer.. and so on.

    The project could be in jeopardy even if the proper documentation is applied. Original developer should share the original sources even the undocumented areas of the project.

    Ok ra man kung dawaton ang project basta proper support lang jud. A developer could do no other progress without proper supervision and guidance.

    So this is one of the reasons why some quit on a project: lack of support.

    What are the other reasons?

    If i had a case like this, I'd start up new. I'd rather be the one eating the pie rather than one catching up and eating the crumbs.

    It's totally under the client's choice. Those who backout had their side of the story, whether personal or "client is too darn thrifty". I don't blame the designer or developer if something goes wrong along the way. Usually clients tend to op for cheaper ones. And when I say cheap, its sooo darn cheap you can't almost possibly pay the bills for what you're getting paid for. and I hate that. If I smell something fishy or "the stench of bogus" on a client, I'd backed out before it's too late. If you want a project so badly, you better expect for the worst.

    And some catchpenny designers would dive in for projects. Another thing I hate about.

    <edit: second thoughts>

    ehh...bunch of wannabe's

    long long time ago, I had some small projects project which was not support well, I always thought of quiting the projects. eh.
    Me, I don't like being catchpenny dude wannabe's out there.

    As a developer we are always make sure to help the project, but with lack of support from previous developers / clients/ employer. It feels like it has no value.
    Gone in the wind? probably. I don't like being jackass
    On the other hand, I always make some "follow up" for the project.
