    I guess it possible. We have corporate PLDT weroam and made it running on ubuntu. Weroam and smartbro are running on the same carrier which is smart. The most important thing you to acquire is to have username and password. I dont know if this is available in smartbro coz weroam has. Will give the tip how to configure it.

    pldt weroam config on ubuntu desktop 9.04

    *first, you need to install “wvdial”
    sudo apt-get wvdial
    *after installation was done, plug your USB device modem to your pc, open a terminal then code;
    sudo wvdialconf
    *default configurations will be push to /etc/wvdial.conf
    *edit /etc/wvdial.conf with your preferred editor
    sudo nano /etc/wvdial.conf

    >below is my example config
    >

    [Dialer Defaults]
    Phone = *99#
    Password = pldt
    Username = pldt@weroam
    APN = weroam
    Stupid Mode = 1

    [Dialer weroam]
    Modem = /dev/ttyUSB0
    Baud = 9600
    Init1 = ATZ
    Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
    Init3 = AT+CFUN=1;+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”weroam”
    Ask Password = 0
    Dial Command = ATD
    FlowControl=NOFLOW
    Compuserve = 0
    Idle Seconds = 3000
    ISDN = 0
    Auto DNS = 1

    modagan ang smartbro sa ubuntu ayaw lang ana WM660 nga model kay dili siya supported.

    Before you plug smartbro to ubuntu (do this when connected to the internet via wi-fi or wired net) go to terminal and type:
    sudo apt-get install usb-modeswitch
    it will ask for your password once installed close the terminal then plug your usb dongle the follow this link.
