Default Cacti to monitor your device

    Hi Guys,

Its been a long time since I made a post here. Anyway, I was working on this great tool that I thought I want to share to the community. I installed it in my linux box to monitor the traffic of all my routers. It also shows up/down status of the interface. Take note that this tool is free from linux community. It has a windows version as well but i find it hard to install in windows. you can get info on this site: www.cacti.net

    Enjoy!!!

No. I did not developed this. It was developed by Jimmy Conner as you can see on the site. I am using it right now as I find it much better than MRTG. Has anyone here been using this tool?

Sorry for the confusion. I am only using this tool and not developing it. Im running it on fedora core 6. For admin guys, you should give it a try because its free and have so many features.

By the way, have any of you here knows how to create a MIB? I am planning to monitor other device like satellite modems, rf transceivers, etc. and include it in my network.

    Thanks in advance.

I have years worth of mrtg data. Unless this offers me anything but pretty graphs, I'll stick to what I already have.

Well, its really up to you anyway as long as you are comfortable with it. I tried mrtg for a week but the features are not that good unlike cacti where you can install additional plugins that suite your needs.
